Ready to Trot Before Turkey?

The official 20th Annual Chesterfield Turkey Trot is a great way to exercise before indulging in big meals. The 5K run for all ages begins at 8:30 a.m. with a 3.1-mile loop course of Chesterfield Parkway and around Chesterfield Mall. 

Long-sleeve T-shirts are guaranteed to all registrants who sign up by Nov. 10 at 2 p.m. Fees are $25 through Nov. 27 and $35 on race day.

Awards will be given to the top, overall male and female, as well as the top three males and females in age groups. 

The Kids Fun Run, for those aged 9 years and younger, begins at 9:30 a.m. at Veterans Place Drive. All children receive a participation medal. Fees are $10 through race day.

Silver Anniversary Celebrated at Minuteman Press

For 25 years, Marie Weiskircher, Tom Weiskircher and their son Greg Lester have operated the Minuteman Press design, marketing and printing full-service franchise in Chesterfield, currently located at 6 Clarkson Wilson Center.

The store produces business cards, letterheads, compliment slips, flyers, postcards, brochures, price lists, posters, leaflets, manuals, invitations, menus, pads, booklets, folders and labels. They report that keeping up with technology is a large contributor to their longevity and success.

Kwame Foundation Raises $50K for Scholarships

A recent golf tournament held at Top Golf in Chesterfield and organized by Kwame Foundation raised more than $50,000 to fund scholarships for first-generation college-bound students. This was the group’s 16th annual tournament. Since 2003, the foundation has endowed more than $1.5 million in scholarships and grants at 12 different universities.

Local Home Remodeling Company Updates Name

After 22 years, the name of Lake Side Exteriors, Inc., at 139 Chesterfield Industrial Blvd., was updated to Lake Side Renovation and Design as the business became a full-scale remodeling company.

The company was founded by Matt Merrifield in 1997 after he returned from serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. The company’s crews remodel kitchens, build room additions, update bathrooms and build out basements. They also work with siding, windows, doors and decks, and they provide lifetime workmanship warranty projects.
