“Dinner + a Movie = Date Night” is heading out under the stars in August.

Venture to a place with the best bourbon-glazed salmon on either side of the river and bask in the nostalgia of seeing your next film at a local drive-in that’s celebrating its 70th year—and believe it or not, it’s all just 45 minutes from Chesterfield!

Dine Before the Movie at Fletchers Kitchen and Tap

Whether you enjoy steaks, seafood or incredible sandwiches and salads, you don’t have to travel too far on the Illinois side to find Fletcher’s Kitchen and Tap. Fletcher’s is located in West Belleville, and they are the home of my favorite dish—their incredible bourbon-glazed salmon. But if a little lighter fare is what you’re craving, Fletcher’s also features brick-oven pizzas that are to die for as well, thus providing something for everyone in your entourage to enjoy! Fletchers also has a new location at 1524 Clinton Hills Drive, in Swansea, Illinois, which you might want to try for your next trip over the Poplar Street Bridge.

Celebrating its 70th anniversary this year, the nostalgic Skyview Drive-In combines the feel of yesteryear, with a digital outdoor movie experience like no other. With two screens and FM radio sound, you can enjoy newly released films all week long, starting at dusk.

The Skyview Drive-In brings the world of movies to life while you relax either in your car or in the great outdoors, illuminated by the ambiance of a summer night’s sky. The Skyview Drive-In also has a playground for the youngsters to enjoy while they wait for the show to start. And the nostalgia continues as you venture to their original concession stand building, where you can enjoy all of the old-time movie fare, including hotdogs, hamburgers and the best popcorn in the area. The Skyview also has specials running through Columbus Day in commemoration of its 70th Anniversary, including the annual “Slash Fest” held during Columbus Day weekend. This year’s event will feature the cult movie classic, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, as another season comes to an end of bringing outdoor movie magic to the thousands who venture from near and far.

Let’s all “cowboy up,” as it seems bad-guy Brixton (Idris Elba) is out to destroy the world, and the most unlikely of comrades—Diplomatic Security Service agent, Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson), and mercenary Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham)—are forced to join forces to not only save their families, but the rest of us too! And if the trailers are any indication of what Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw is about to bring to the big screen, you will embark on a journey filled with enough action, suspense and intrigue that it will quench the thirst of any action movie junkie out there!

Rated PG-13, Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw also stars Vanessa Kirby and Helen Mirren and is scheduled to hit theaters Aug. 2.
