Rockwood Hosts First-Ever District Fashion Show
Fashion students from all four Rockwood School District high schools participated in the first-ever district fashion show during May. The event was held at Lafayette High School in Wildwood with students modeling garments they assembled.
“The four teachers who teach fashion construction in the district meet frequently throughout the school year for professional development,” says Susie Hamlin, who teaches FACS (family and consumer sciences), fashion fundamentals I and II and fashion design and merchandising.
“We have wanted to do a district fashion show, and our students have done well at others. So this year we decided to make it happen,” Susie says.
Susie adds she hopes students enjoyed the focus on project-based learning and having an actual audience for their finished products.
