BESPOKE APPAREL ADDS WOMEN’S LINE
A collection launch party for the new women’s line of Bespoke Apparel was held by at the Hearth Room Cafe, 265 Lamp & Lantern Village. The Worth New York spring collection was debuted, with special pricing on any custom clothing during the event.
PARKWAY SHINES LIGHTS AGAIN
Five Parkway Schools employees received the 2018 Light of Parkway award, recognizing the district’s extraordinary operations staff members who help create a positive and caring service environment. A total of 33 employees were nominated.
This year’s recipients were Linda Barthel, cafeteria manager, Oak Brook Elementary; Edin Besic, construction supervisor, Facilities; Pat Farley, budget and athletic secretary, North High; Karen Isaac, bus driver, Transportation; and Carol Tice, confidential specialist, Instructional Services Center.
All five winners received $500 from the Parkway Alumni Association at Appreciation Evening on April 23.
2017 CHESTERFIELD CITIZEN OF THE YEAR RECOGNIZED
Rosie Bergh, a long-time resident of Chesterfield, was honored in March as the 2017 Chesterfield Citizen of the Year. She has volunteered with multiple groups, including the Parkway School District, St. Luke’s Hospital, St. John’s United Church of Christ, the Fire Workers Union and other civic organizations. She logged more than 3,000 volunteer hours at St. Luke’s.
For several years, Rosie has been stopping by Marie de Village and Parc Provence, visiting residents at nursing homes with few or no family members who are able to visit.
CHESTERFIELD TOWNE CENTRE SELLS FOR $9M
Scott Properties, led by Joe Scott, bought the Chesterfield Towne Centre plaza at 101-219 Chesterfield Towne Centre reportedly for $9 million from Continental Realty, a Baltimore-area firm.
The Chesterfield 85,183-square-foot shopping plaza has tenants including Vito’s in the Valley, Symbowl, Tack Trunk, Treasure Rooms and office spaces.
Scott Properties manages office, medical and retail spaces, and owns Crown Valley Winery.
TWO ‘GREEN TEAM’ AWARDEES RECOGNIZED
Two women, Elaine Collins and Judy Smith, received a “Green Team” recognition by the Chesterfield Citizens Environmental Advisory Committee members for their volunteerism toward the group’s community initiatives in pollinators’ (bees) support, environmental protection and recycling.
LOCAL SAND VOLLEYBALL AVAILABLE THIS SUMMER
Sand volleyball leagues will be offered at the Chesterfield Valley Athletic Complex, starting in June, according to Chesterfield city sources. The city’s sand volleyball courts can be rented for tournaments and fundraisers. For details, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
