Chesterfield Activities Abound For Every Day

Because July has 31 days, following are 31 Chesterfield-centric activities to explore for the month, or fit in over the rest of summer.

  1. Celebrate the Fourth of July at one of the biggest fireworks shows in the St. Louis metropolitan area from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. on July 4 at Chesterfield Mall. This year’s event includes a two-hour circus in the Kid’s Zone, food vendors, live music from the Fat Pocket band and fireworks starting at 9:30 p.m. Chesterfield.MO.US
  2. Take a stand-up paddleboarding class at River’s Edge Park on the north side of the levee near Taubman Outlet Mall. SUP101 teaches dry land basics, including board, paddle, safety and techniques. Paddleboards can be rented: $15 for one hour or $25 for two hours. 636.537.4000, Chesterfield.MO.US
  3. Ride hand-carved animals on the historic St. Louis Carousel in Faust Park at 15189 Olive Blvd. When the Forest Park Highlands amusement park caught fire in 1963, this carousel was the only item left standing. 314.615.8383

  6. Trek August G. Beckemeier Trail, designated as a moderate 0.7-mile trail on Olive Boulevard west of Ladue Road, 1.3 miles north of Faust County Park.

  13. Go on free tours of the Historic Village Homes and Heritage Gardens during open house Sundays at Faust County Park.

  15. Beat July heat by shopping inside the air-conditioned Chesterfield Mall, and stop by the Children’s Illustrated Art Museum.

  19. Attend the free, outdoor Chamber of Commerce Free Concert Series at Faust Park on select Tuesday evenings; food trucks will be present.
  20. Meander a half-mile crushed stone and boardwalk trail through woods and wildlife at the Riparian Trail, 16365 Lydia Hill Drive. Or walk the 11-mile Monarch Chesterfield Levee Trail that encompasses the entire Chesterfield Valley. For bicyclists, the trail connects to the 250-mile Katy Trail in St. Charles County.
  21. Attend a variety of festivals and concerts at Chesterfield Amphitheater, 631 Veterans Place Drive.
  22. Bowl at Brunswick Zone at 176 Four Seasons Shopping Center.
  23. Look for gems to rescue at the Chesterfield Antique Mall, 16635 Old Chesterfield Road.

  28. Cast lines at Big Muddy Fish and Wildlife Refuge-Boone’s Crossing Unit, a primitive river area managed by the US Fish and Wildlife Service and connected to the Chesterfield Athletic Complex—adjacent to playing fields on other side of Monarch Levee.
  29. Do archery attack or play laser tag at Chesterfield Sports Fusion, 140 Long Road.
  30. Tackle shopping at more than half of the stores at the St. Louis Premium Outlets and Taubman Prestige Outlets in Chesterfield Valley, and search for the perfect summer sandals.
  31. Find and admire all dozen of Chesterfield’s outdoor sculptures: Aspire, The Awakening, The Coyote, Dog Days, the Fox, Gox A, Gox B, Large Bather III, Maura, Meeting Places, and Yue Ling Chen.
